The world is moving at a rapid pace and unless we keep current and stay up to date with what is going on, we are in danger of being left behind. This can be a very scary concept, especially for those who are not digital natives, and all technology is new learning. So how can you keep pace without becoming a technical genius?
First, Smart technology, Automation, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence is not coming – it is already here now, so it is important to face that reality. We don’t all need to know how this works, but we do need to know how it will affect our current work. It is predicted that 7.1 Million jobs could be lost not only due to automation, but because people are now cutting out the middle tier and going straight to the source, e.g. buying online rather than going to a retail outlet. So how can you best prepare for these changes?
One of the most important ways for you to best prepare for this impact of technology and the guaranteed automation of jobs, is to be very clear about who you are, what you have to offer and how you can best articulate this.
Understanding what it is you want out of work, what fascinates and inspires you and gaining an understanding of what your strengths are, are key to answering who you are.
Once you are clear about who you are and what you want, you can look at opportunities and create possibilities in line with who you are and then back yourself to make it happen. A big part of this is being able to clearly and effectively articulate who you are and what you have to offer.
